Besakih Temple is Balifs most important temple,perched nearly1000m above sea level, up the side of Mt.Agung and known as gThe mother temple of Balih.The temple comprises several 23 separate-but-related temples.the precise of Besakih temple are not totally clear but it almost exact dates from prehistoric times.The stone bases of Pura Penataran Agung and several other temples resemble megalithic stepped pyramids,which date back at least 2000 years.By 15th century,Besakih Temple become a state temple of the Gelgel dynasty.
